Build and fly your very own model airplane design. Using clear explanations, you will learn about important design trade-offs and how to choose among them. The latest research and techniques are discussed using easy to understand language. You will discover:

The special challenges faced by the smaller models and how to overcome them. How to choose the right material for each part of the airplane. Easy rules for selecting the right power system, gas or electric. When it makes sense to use one of the innovative KFm airfoils. Pros and cons of canard and multi-wing configurations. A step-by-step design process that includes goal setting and flight testing. In-depth discussions of important topics like airfoils and wing design. The sources of air drag and how to minimize their impact.
ADVANCE PRAISE

“This book is a joy to read! The writing style and wit add dimension in a way that is rarely found in today’s reference materials. If someone has considered designing their own airplane and been put off because of complicated formulas, vocabulary and reference style that would bore even an engineer, this will convince them to go ahead and try it. Written with real people in mind and not engineers – and I mean that in a good way. This is a book that will reside along the other favorites on my bookshelf. Carlos really managed to produce a book that will last a long time and become one of the standards for modelers.”

– Greg Gimlick, Electrics columnist, Model Aviation magazine

“RCAdvisor’s Model Airplane Design Made Easy is the ultimate model airplane design book for both beginning and experienced modelers.”

– Richard Kline, Inventor, KFm airfoils

“RCadvisor’s Model Airplane Design Made Easy is a real contribution to the world’s literature on the subject. It provides an excellent bridge between full scale aviation and aeromodeling, showing the relationship between the two, for better understanding of the differences and similarities which should be applied for good model performance.

While thorough in detail, the book is also easily readable so that the information is simple to understand. It is a very good combination of theory and practical application. Nicely illustrated, the book is also full of common sense explanations and references to other sources of information.”

– John Worth, former President and Executive Director of the AMA

“Carlos Reyes personably leads the reader through some basic aerodynamics, materials considerations, electric power system planning and a practical application of theory as it is applied to a finished flying model. The background history of various types of aircraft shows the development of aviation and how it relates to the models that we build and fly today, as well as how models have influenced general aviation. It is always exciting to find some ‘new to me’ concepts and theories, and there were several in this well-written narrative.”

– Ken Myers, Editor, Ampeer electric flight newsletter

“No matter how long you’ve been aeromodelling, or what your interests are in our great hobby, the greatest thrill of all is standing behind a unique model that you’ve designed and built yourself, from a blank sheet of paper – or even a blank CAD file – and preparing to make that first take off.

So sit yourself down in a comfy chair, read RCadvisor’s Model Airplane Design Made Easy and set off on aeromodelling’s greatest adventure.

Let Carlos Reyes – an aeromodeller of long standing and great talent – take you through the mysteries of how to arrive at the point that every lover of model aircraft should experience.”

– Dereck Woodward, aeromodeller, designer and magazine writer for the past fifty years

Flying RC Models: 50 years of RC Model Aircraft by David Crocker

This book is about my memories of over fifty years of flying radio controlled model airplanes. Back in the mid 1960’s after finishing my education I took up my old hobby again. First I tried single channel with rubber powered compound escapements moving the rudder. One pulse for right rudder, two for left and three pulses activated the secondary escapement for a one stage change throttle setting. A one stage change meant the throttle moved from, for instance, low to medium. Every time the throttle setting required adjustment the whole sequence was repeated all over again.

Fifty years later we have graduated to Spektra computer radios with fully programmable features and settings for seven channels. With enough memory to store data for 10 different aircraft, fixed and rotary wing types all this on 2.4 gigahertz frequency so that dozens of models can operate simultaneously without interference.

HOW TO FLY RC Planes – Illustrated Guide: Become an RC Plane flying expert in 30 minutes

RC Plane flying and building – Probably this is the only Hobby that involves Engineering, Electronics, Building, Aerodynamics, Model making, etc.

This is a hobby which is demanding and challenging and yet rewarding, when you fly it!

The feeling you get when you fly the plane successfully, is priceless.

As a RC Plane hobbyist for several years I have come to experience this priceless feeling again and again and I want others to feel the same about this hobby.

That is why I have created this STEP-BY-STEP ILLUSTRATED GUIDE , so that with minimum frustration and ‘fuss’ you can go about making your flight a successful one.

This Guide covers some very important segments in the process of flying without which a successful flight will one be a matter of chance! They are,

– How planes fly

– Planes don’t turn, but instead they ‘bank’, why?

– Bank / Roll

– RC Plane banking

– Ground controls

– Your flying field selection

– Taxi & Take off

– Taxi (ground roll)

– Take-off (transition from ground to air)

– Climb & First bank

– Climbing and maintaining altitude

– Flight path

– Stalling : Recognise & Recover from Stall

– Descent & Landing

– Cross wind Landing

– Various Landing Scenarios

This guide is a creation and compilation of some extensive research, both from actual experience and available information.

Lastly, I want to say only one thing about flying RC Planes, “The more you know about them, the better your flying will be”

BLUE Radio Control Flying Bird

Many people have flown remote control airplanes – even more have flown remote control helicopters – but we bet you’ve never flown a remote control bird before! Our remote control bird is easy to fly, and the detailed instruction manual will have you going in minutes! E-bird flaps its wings just like a real bird, climbing, swooping, and diving through the air. A rudder on the birds tail allows you to direct the birds left or right. You can control the speed of the wings to make the bird climb higher and fly faster, or to just hover in place. Constructed from lightweight and durable materials, our remote control bird is unlikely to break in a crash, and since it weighs less than half an ounce, you can fly it indoors without worrying about your household items. The bird is capable of controlled flight within up to 70 feet, meaning you can let it soar way above your head. If it gets out of range the wings will lock, allowing the bird to gently glide until it reaches the ground. Available in four different models to choose: Blue Pigeon, Green Parrot, Pink Butterfly and Orange Phoenix.

Product Features

  • Flies like a real bird by flapping its wings!
  • R/C Flying Bird Radio Control
  • Realistic wing flapping
  • Flies for 10 to 15 Minutes, depending on your Flying Style. Charges in about 20 Minutes directly from the Remote Control.
  • Lightweight and Durable Materials, 4 AA-Batteries Required for the Remote (Not Included)
